Goa's Angela to be Inducted in Official Taekwondo Hall of Fame

Goa's first female taekwondo player Angela will be inducted in the official Taekwondo Hall of Fame on September 25 at Zagreb, Croatia.

MARGAO: Goa's first female taekwondo player Angela will be inducted in the official Taekwondo Hall of Fame on September 25 at Zagreb, Croatia.

The official Taekwondo Hall of Fame has recognised her individual performance as a female, who has made a significant impact and contribution to the martial art in India, in addition being a former champion, instructor, holding the distinctionof being the first female in India to attain the status of international referee and the first female in the country to attain Kukkiwon Grand Master seventh degree black belt.

Talking to PTI, Angela said: "I am  happy and proud that such an honour is being bestowed on a Goan sportswoman, who has brought glory to Goa and India. Since the commencement of taekwondo in Goa in the year 1985-86, I have bagged many laurels for Goa and India and have kept Goa's flag flying high at the national and international arena and still."
