BHUBANESWAR: In a bid to encourage the four semifinalist countries and motivate their spirit for the 14th Odisha Hockey Men’s World Cup, the State Government has roped international fame sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik to do the same through his fabulous work at Kalinga Stadium.

The art will be ready soon as Sudarsan and his six students are leaving no stone unturned in bringing all glory to this art. They will be using nearly 14 tonnes of sand for the work, said sources. The sand art is being designed with colours representing the flags of Australia, England, Belgium and Netherlands. The art work has two sets of hockey sticks with the World Cup trophy in between. The message on the art reads, “All the best.”

Sudarsan said “Using sand art to wish the teams all the best is quite a distinct way. I am glad to be associated with it and I truly hope that all countries put forth their best and may the best take the trophy home. On the other hand, tourists will also enjoywatching this art on display which will give them an idea of the pedigree of Odisha’s local talent.”In the high voltage semifinals, Australia and Belgium will face Netherland and England respectively on Saturday.
