Roja quits TDP, to join Congress soon

HYDERABAD: Telugu Mahila president RK Roja submitted her resignation to Telugu Desam Party and for the Telugu Mahila president post. She faxed her resignation letter to TDP office today. She met YS Jagan Mohan Reddy at the former chief minister’s camp office later. In her resignation letter, Roja said that though she worked hard, the party has done injustice to her twice in allotting seats. It may be recalled that she unsuccessfully contested on TDP ticket from Nagari in 2004 and Chandragiri in 2009.

She alleged that though the TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu knew all these facts, yet he remained silent.

Roja said that she felt that there was no future in the party and hence she decided to quit.

Roja called on YS Rajasekhara Reddy recently and expressed her willingness to join the party. After Reddy’s demise, the future of Roja was hanging in balance. But, ending the speculation Roja resigned from TDP today and is likely to join Congress soon.
