HYDERABAD: IPS officer of 1977 batch V Dinesh Reddy has been appointed the Director General of Police of Andhra Pradesh.

Mr. Dinesh Reddy, currently the Director General of Vigilance and Enforcement, succeeds his batch mate K Aravinda Rao who retired from service on attaining the age of superannuation on Thursday.

Mr. Reddy will be in service till September 30, 2013 when he attains the age of superannuation.

The State government has once again overlooked the seniority factor and picked up Mr. Reddy for the head of police force’s job as he has a two-year tenure left.
