Kadapa MP YS Jaganmohan Reddy has missed early morning tryst with  shuttle badminton in jail for over a month and a half recently.

Jagan, who plays shuttle to keep himself fit, suffered an injury on his left toe two weeks ago and had to keep away from games for many days. “It was a minor injury and nothing to worry about,” a prison official said.

Jagan, who used to play shuttle with other VIP prisoners, injured his left toe when fell over himself on the morning of Bakrid (Oct 27). One source said Jagan suffered an injury on the second toe of his left leg when he accidentally landed his right leg on it with force while playing. When he could not walk freely, prison authorities referred him to the prison hospital where doctors declared that it was just a minor injury but nevertheless brought a mobile X-ray unit and performed the necessary tests. The tests indicated no fracture.

Jagan’s wife Bharathi, who visited him on the same day and took a look at the injury, was also convinced that the injury was not worrisome, prison officials said. Doctors, however, advised him to take rest for two weeks and not to play games.

Prisoners are allowed to play games to keep themselves fit. Jaganmohan prefers to play along with other VIP prisoners.

After taking two weeks’ rest, Jaganmohan Reddy looked normal and  perfectly fit. When he was, along with others, was produced in the CBI court at Nampally the other day, the MP looked perfect.
