KADAPA: The police on Monday seized Rs 11.05 lakh unaccounted cash in Rajampet  and Tirupati constituencies which are going for byelections.

According to Mannur sub inspector D Srinivas Rs 9 lakh was seized from one Sheik Shahjahan of Kadapa at Boyanapalle check post for carrying the cash without any documentation. Shahjahan claimed he owned a furniture shop and was carrying the cash to Chennai in connection with his business, but failed to produce any documentary evidence. Police said the seized cash would be handed over to the person concerned on submitting necessary documents.

Police seized Rs 1.30 lakh from one B Kalappa, who was on his way to Gulbarga from Bangalore via Tirupati while checking the vehicles. Kalappa said  the cash was a token advance from the sale of house in Bangalore and he was taking that amount to Gulbarga after having darshan of Lord Balaji in Tirumala.

Tirupati: Police seized unaccounted cash of Rs 3.75 lakh at a check post in Ramachandrapuram mandal headquaters, near here on Monday and took two youths into custody.The police seized the cash from the duo belonging to Kollagunta village when they were on way to Tirupati.  Money will be given to IT dept.
