Express News Service

A six-year-old boy choked to death after a whistle he accidentally swallowed got stuck in his throat at Nagur (K) village in Kangti mandal on Tuesday.

Doctors at a private hospital in the mandal headquarters made some efforts to take out the whistle from Chandu’s throat but later advised that he be taken to Narayankhed for better treatment. Chandu died on the way while being shifted in a 108 ambulance to Narayankhed.

According to the police, Chandu, the only son of Kasiram and Ambika, did not go to school on Tuesday. He went to play with some kids near his house and was blowing a whistle when he collapsed on the ground after it got stuck in his throat. The other children immediately alerted Chandu’s parents who rushed him to a private hospital in Kangti and from there to Narayankhed but he died midway.
