And honouring his great literary services, the State Government had announced his birth anniversary as a government festival.

The district administration celebrated the Mahakavi’s 153rd birth anniversary Monday. On the occasion, Naik said that Gurajada questioned the then prevailing social customs through his works. Specially mentioning the oft quoted Gurajada’s “Desamante Matti Kadoi-Desamante Manushuloi”, the collector said that the saying brought a democratic revolution, a successful weapon during the freedom movement in the country.
