Express News Service

VIJAYAWADA: YSRC Bobbili MLA Sujay Krishna Ranga Rao joined the Telugu Desam Party along with his supporters here on Wednesday. Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu admitted the YSRC leader into the party by covering him in a Telugu Desam scarf.

Sujay Krishna Ranga Rao’s admission is considered as part of Chandrababu Naidu’s strategy to wreck the morale of his bete noir and YSRC chief Jagan Mohan Reddy. Naidu’s MLAs are working over time engineering defections from YSRC into the TDP at his instance.

Naidu is understood to be keen on inflicting as much damage as possible to YSRC before the state readies for the next election in 2019.

A few days ago, Sujay Krishna Ranga Rao met Union Minister P Ashok Gajapati Raju at the latter’s bungalow in Vizianagaram and expressed his willingness to join the Telugu Desam Party. Accordingly, he joined the yellow brigade. He said he took the decision because he had faith in the leadership of Naidu in developing the state.

After admitting him to the party, Naidu said that he would go to any extent to develop the state regardless of the problems that he may face.
