GUNTUR: Guntur First Additional District Judge N Narasinga Rao on Friday handed 10 years imprisonment and Rs 10,000 fine to a pastor for raping a minor girl. The judge also suggested the District Collector to provide Rs 2 lakh as compensation to the victim’s family.According to the police, pastor K Jayaraju, a native of Adusumalli village in Prakasam district was running a children’s home at Palaparru with the help of donors. He is accused of raping a 13-year-old girl in December 2014, who was studying class IX by staying at the children’s home. The pastor confined the girl in the children’s home and did not let her to go to school.

The prosecution claimed that the pastor raped the girl several times. When the school teachers asked the parents about the whereabouts of their daughter,  the parents searched every where and at last found their daughter at the children’s home. The girl revealed about the rape to her parents afterwhich they lodged a complaint with the Pedanandipadu police.
