Seeds worth Rs 1.89 crore seized 

Vigilance and Enforcement Department on Thursday conducted a raid at Venkatalakshmi Traders at Cheluvuru village in Duggirala mandal of Guntur district and seized seeds worth Rs 1.89 crore.

GUNTUR: Vigilance and Enforcement Department on Thursday conducted a raid at Venkatalakshmi Traders at Cheluvuru village in Duggirala mandal of Guntur district and seized seeds worth Rs 1.89 crore. 
According to Vigilance officer K Venkat Rao, Venkatalakshmi Traders stored 533 quintals of jowar and maize seeds worth Rs 1.89 crore at Cheluvuru village in Duggirala mandal. He said the traders claimed that the stock of seeds was stored by Sunitha Enterprises but they have no supporting documents or licence with them. 

The stocks have been seized and shifted to Agriculture department. Agriculture department officer Akthar Hussain, Assistant AO Sowjanya, VRO J Pulla Rao, panchayat secretary G L N Gupta and Vigilance department head constable B Ram Babu and constables M Bhupathi and K Gopi participated in the raids.
