VIJAYAWADA: Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MAUD) Minister P Narayana highlighted the deep bond he shares with capital region farmers, asserting that Amaravati’s revival as the state capital is the direct result of their sacrifices and relentless struggle.

Speaking on Friday after attending the re-foundation ceremony of the historic Sri Ganga Parvathi Sametha Sri Ramalingeswara Swamy and Sri Bala Koteswara Swamy temple in Thullur, the Minister recalled his close daily involvement with local landowners during the initial land pooling exercise.

He noted that Thullur held significant historic and spiritual importance, serving as the starting point for the landmark ‘Nyayasthanam to Devasthanam’ padayatra undertaken by farmers and women during their long agitation.

Reaffirming the administration’s commitment to fulfilling its promises to the land-givers, Minister Narayana detailed key infrastructure updates currently underway across the capital region.

He announced that infrastructure development—including roads and primary amenities within the returnable plots allotted to farmers—is being executed on a fast-track basis.

Furthermore, capital construction projects are being systematically managed on a project-by-project basis, with completed government buildings slated for monthly handovers to ensure steady progress.

The Minister also outlined broader development plans, stating that special focus is being directed toward major capital projects such as the International Sports City, a dedicated railway line, and the Inner Ring Road, supported by ongoing targeted land pooling.

To further enhance regional connectivity, construction on the third phase of the Seed Access Road—featuring a new elevated corridor connecting directly to the National Highway—is scheduled to launch next Saturday.
