Truck rams into e-rickshaw in Bihar's Saran, four killed

CHHAPRA: Four people died after a truck collided with an e-rickshaw in Bihar’s Saran district, officials said on Monday.

The incident took place on Sunday evening near Sonho toll plaza on the Muzaffarpur-Chhapra road.

“Around 8:30 pm on Sunday, a dumper reportedly went out of control, first hitting an electricity pole on the roadside and then ramming into an e-rickshaw. Five people were seated in the e-rickshaw. Two died on the spot and two others succumbed during treatment at a hospital in Parsa,” Marhaura SDPO Savindra Kumar Das told PTI.

Bodies of the deceased were handed over to family members after post-mortem examination, he said.

The truck driver fled the scene after the accident, and search is underway to trace him, the SDPO added.
