Kannada writer Ananth Kallol died late on Friday night due to a cardiac arrest. He was 76.

Kannada writer Ananth Kallol died late on Friday night due to a cardiac arrest. He was 76.

Kallol has published about 40 books and was famous as a humorist. He had translated the Bhagavad Gita into Kannada and had also published a collection of plays. Kallol had won Karnataka Sahitya Academy award for his book ‘Hagarana’. He had also been felicitated by the Karnataka Nataka Academy for his drama collection.

He had served in the Department of Central Excise as Assistant Collector. He is survived by wife, a son and a daughter.
