KARNATAKA: A debt-ridden farmer attempted to commit suicide by consuming posion on Sunday, died in government hospital of Kalaburagi on Friday.

The deceased has been identified as Rajashekhar Jewargi (45). Police sources said that the deceased was having 8 acres of land and borrowed loan from State Bank of India as well as from private money lenders.

Due to crop failure, Rajashekhar attempted to commit suicide on Sunday by consuming poison and he was immediately admitted to Kalaburagi district government hospital. But he died on Friday.
