Ex-manager of Shiroor Mutt blames woman devotee of mutt in the death case 

Former manager Sunil Kumar said that the exact reason for the death will be known if the police thoroughly investigate a woman devotee of the mutt.

HASSAN: Demanding a probe into the death of Sri Lakshmivara Theertha Swamiji of Udupi Shiroor Mutt, its former manager Sunil Kumar said that the exact reason for the death will be known if the police thoroughly investigate a woman devotee of the mutt.

Kumar told reporters on Sunday the woman controlled all departments in the mutt and her word was final in the administration of the mutt. The swamiji had given her a free hand to take all decisions.

“She also looks after bank transactions and heads the cooking department. She is the only person who had permission to enter the swamiji’s chamber,” he said.Kumar, who worked as a manager at the mutt for nine years, said the swamiji sacked him following a complaint by the woman.
