Ex-manager of mutt questioned

Police have questioned former manager of Shiroor Mutt and an autorickshaw driver with whom Shiroor seer was said to be in contact, in connection with the seer’s death.

UDUPI: Police have questioned former manager of Shiroor Mutt and an autorickshaw driver with whom Shiroor seer was said to be in contact, in connection with the seer’s death.

Police have also taken the statements from the residents in the vicinity where the Shiroor Moola Mutt is located in Hiriyadka. The woman who was said to be a frequent visitor of the mutt was questioned in her flat in Kinnimulki.

Mutt’s former manager Sunil Sampigetthaya who has been questioned by the police reportedly told the police that the woman in question could be considered as one of the suspects in the case. Police have also questioned Jagadish, an auto driver from Duglipadavu (near Manipal) with whom the deceased seer was in close contact with. It is said Shiroor Seer assisted him financially to buy the auto.  

Udupi SP Laxman Nimbargi said the reports of bottles containing poisonous substances being found in Shiroor Mutt is far from the truth. “We are waiting for the FSL report to arrive,” he said.

It is said that a temporary autopsy report is expected within two or three days.It is also said a digital video recorder device that was installed at the Shiroor Moola Mutt has gone missing. There was a camera at the entrance of the Shiroor Moola Mutt.
