BELAGAVI: “We were trying our best to save our daughter’s life. Why would we ever think of killing our flesh and blood? asked Sandeep Jadar, father of the infant who was allegedly taken to a graveyard to be buried alive. A watchman of Shahapur graveyard had recently spotted a group of people trying to bury an infant girl alive.
Jadar said his child had been suffering from a brain haemorrhage and was struggling for her life at the district hospital in Belagavi. She breathed her last while undergoing treatment at the hospital on Thursday evening. Rajesh Banch, watchman of the Shahapur graveyard, had said a group of people had brought a two-month-old girl child to bury in the graveyard.
But, Banch said he noted movement in the child. He also alleged though he had refused to bury the child which was alive, the people who had brought it insisted on doing so, stating that it was equal to dead.
The father of the same infant has a different story to tell. Jadar had alleged some people tried to twist the details of what had happened at the graveyard just as a publicity stunt. Clarifying that his daughter was 45-days-old, Jadar said she was initially undergoing brain hemorrhage treatment at a private hospital. He said his daughter was in critical condition and was being kept in intensive care unit.
