BENGALURU: A day after Chief Minister Siddaramaiah alleged that the BJP offered Rs 50 crore each to 50 Congress MLAs to topple the government in Karnataka, saffron party leaders challenged the former to prove his allegations. State BJP president BY Vijayendra said that Siddaramaiah does not trust his MLAs anymore.

“The CM has insulted his own party MLAs by referring them as commodities. This is a lie to hide your failures.

The CM is unable to control his MLAs and with disappointment, he is making such statements,” Vijayendra said, challenging Siddaramaiah to order a probe to bring out the truth.

The BJP leader also urged the Directorate of Enforcement (ED) to take up the investigation on its own. Leader of Opposition in the Assembly R Ashoka, too, south a probe by the ED.

Former minister V Sunil Kumar said that Siddaramaiah was spreading such “fake news” fearing loss in the recent bypolls to Sandur, Channapatna and Shiggaon.

“Its been two years that this government came to power. MLAs are unhappy over not getting grants to take up any development activities’’ he alleged. Former DyCM Dr CN Ashwath Narayan, too, challenged the CM to provide proof to substantiate his claims.
