THRISSUR: Over 20 teachers retiring from service on Tuesday set an example worth emulating.
On the last day of their service, they bid farewell to their profession by donating blood at the Jubilee Mission Medical College here.
The Kerala Blood Donors Forum organised the blood donation camp. Retiring principal of Sacred Heart Higher Secondary School Sr Merceena was the inaugural donor at the camp.
State Coordinator of Kerala Blood Donors Forum Fr Dr Francis Alapatt in his keynote address said that the retirement age of 55 years coincides with the age bar of 55 for blood donation.
He said that this is for the first time in the 30-year history of the KBDF that retiring teachers came forward to donate blood voluntarily.
