E. Ahamed records sixth straight win

Minister for State for External Affairs has made a straight win to the Lok Sabha by securing over 100,000 votes.

MALAPPURAM: Malappuram (Kerela), May 16 (IANS) Minister for State for External Affairs E. Ahamed Saturday recorded his sixth straight win to the Lok Sabha from the newly constituted Malappuram seat by over 100,000 votes.

Ahamed trounced his nearest rival and sitting Lok Sabha member from the Manjeri seat, T.K. Hamza, of Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M).

Ahmed, 70, represents the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML).

In the 2004 general elections, Ahamed had won from the Ponnani Lok Sabha seat.
