KOLLAM: Cine, theatre and teleserial actor Paravur Ramachandran ( V Ramachandran), 64, passed away on Tuesday. The death occurred at a private hospital at Kottiyam where he was undergoing treatment. Ramachandran was staying at Palode house, Thumpode, Madavoor, near Kilimanoor. He started his acting career as a theatre actor through Perumbavoor Nataka Sala at the age of 17. Later, he was an active member of the Kalidasa Kalakendram here during 197375 and played major roles in many plays. His theatre career spanning around 25 years won him public acclaim.

His first film was Rajasenan's Sathya Bhamakkoru Pranaya lekhanam. Later, he became active in cinema and played important roles in films like Dillvala Rajakumaran, Superman, Vasanthiyum Lakshmiyum Pinne Njanum, Kathanayakan, Thooval kottaram. He had acted in around 30 films. Yakshiyum Njanum by Vinayan was his last film. He had also played major roles in several teleserials.

He is survived by wife Sathi and children Sandhya Nair and Sai Chandran. His body was taken to Kilimanoor and cremated in the afternoon. Several people paid homage to Ramachandran. Film personalities Rajasenan, Jagannatha Varma, Karyavattom Sasi, theatre personalities Pirappancode Murali, Kollam Shah, N Rajan MLA, Prathapavarma Thampan were among those who paid their last respects ?
