Sta.Nina bags Suvarna Chakoram

With the Philippines film Sta.Nina, directed by Emmanuel Palo, winning the Suvarna Chakoram (Golden Crow Pheasant Award) for Best Film, the 17th edition of International Film Festival of Kerala came to a close on Friday.

 The film, which tells the story of a father seeking a miracle on his two-year-old kid who gets buried in a quarry, got `15 lakh along with the award.

 Chilean woman director Francisca Silva, bagged the Rajata Chakoram (Silver Crow Pheasant Award) for Best Director in competition section for her film Ivan’s Woman.

 Nitin Kakkar who directed the Hindi film Filmistan received the Rajata Chakoram for Best Debut Film.

 Malayalam director Joy Mathew received the Silver Crow Pheasant Award for the top-rated film by the audience for his debut film Shutter.

The Silver Crow Pheasant Award winners get Rs 2 lakh as cash prize.
