KOLLAM: Police are learnt to have detained three persons as part of investigation into the brutal murder of gay rights activist Anil Sadanandan at Tangasseri last week, according to reliable sources. The details of calls collected from the victim’s mobile are said to have given the crucial breakthrough in the case. Police had questioned over 15 persons connected to the victim. A call received from a recently activated connection is under the police scanner.

Though the mobile phone and laptop of Anil were found missing from his room, police do not connect the murder with a burglary. It is presumed that these gadgets were either stolen to mislead the police or to hide some vital information against the assailants.

Considering his active involvement in gay rights activism, the chances of moral policing are not completely ruled out. Police officers are learnt to have gone through the channel discussions attended by the victim.

Meanwhile, Kollam East CI Sugathan, who is heading the probe, told ‘Express’ that the probe team would be able to get a clear picture of the circumstances leading to the cold-blooded murder within two to three days.
