C V Sreeraman Award for Parakkadavu

KOZHIKODE : Writer P K Parakkadavu has bagged the Ayanam-C V Sreeraman Award for his anthology of short stories ‘Thiranjedutha Kathakal.’ The award carries a purse of `10,000, a citation and a plaque. The award, instituted in memory of short-story writer C V Sreeraman, will be presented to Parakkadavu by M Mukundan, on January 21, at a function to be held at the Kerala Sahitya Academy.

Vyshakhan, U K Kumaran and Unni R are some of the earlier winners of the award. The award panel included Vyshakhan, M N Vijayakumar and T R Harry. The jury said that Parakkadavu had neither a successor nor a predecessor and he followed a loner’s path.
