KOCHI: Refuting allegations he gatecrashed into the Prime Minister’s Metro ride, BJP state president Kummanam Rajasekharan on Saturday said his name was in the list of dignitaries who were to travel with the PM.“The Kerala Police had provided me with a vehicle and, naturally, it must have the permission of SPG as it was part of the PM’s motorcade. These baseless allegations are raised by those who want to take the sheen out of the launch,” Kummanam said.

‘Security lapse’
Alleging security lapse, Devaswom Minister Kadakampally Surendran had demanded an inquiry into the incident. However, Kummanam retorted saying he visits places only after being properly invited. “Kadakampilly Surendran is lying. I dare Surendran to ask this to Chief Minister, who was with me during the PM’s Metro journey. It is the Chief Minister who should answer whether there was any security lapse,” Kummanam said.

Trolls
The Prime Minister’s Metro ride had opened a floodgate of trolls and later criticism from a large section for the inclusion of Kummanam in the team. The Chief Minister’s Office has tweeted photos, clinically cropping Kummanam Rajasekharan.
