KANNUR: Coming out strongly against the controversy regarding his visit to the Mridanga Saileshwari temple at Muzhakkunnu a year ago, CPM central committee member E P Jayarajan termed the move politically motivated.

“I visited the temple on April 6, 2017, as requested by the temple authorities. They had requested me to inaugurate the cultural meeting as part of the Pooramaholsavam at the temple. A reception to Padma Shri award winner Meenakshi Gurukkal was also charted as part of the function.

The temple is in my constituency. When I reached the temple, the authorities asked to me to get inside and see its architectural beauty,” he said.
