Kerala government guest houses to get trendy makeover

Free wifi, cashless transactions and the new logo of guest houses were launched by Tourism Minister Kadakampally Surendran.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Government guest houses in the state are headed for a trendy makeover. Free wifi, cashless transactions and the new logo of guest houses were launched by Tourism Minister Kadakampally Surendran here on Monday.

The minister also launched stylish signages, menu card, table mat, linen, curtains and crockery, all sporting the new logo at the function.

Kadakampally said the government has launched a branding programme to ensure standard services in guest houses.

All guest houses, Kerala Houses and Yatri Nivas under the Tourism Department will be included in the branding programme. An online reservation system will be launched shortly.

Infrastructure facilities at different guest houses will be developed. A Yatri Nivas with 34 rooms will be built on the premises of the Kerala House at Kanyakumari.
