THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The All-India Youth Front (AIYF), the youth wing of the CPI, has come out against Transport Minister A K Saseendran for his stance regarding the appointment of conductors. The minister’s approach is against the Left front’s declared stance and policies, the AIYF pointed out. AIYF said the statement that those who made it into the KSRTC conductor rank list and got PSC’s advice memo cannot be given posting, is against youngsters.

It was about one-and-a-half-year that 4,051 people included in the ranklist were given advice memo. Majority of them won’t be able to apply for PSC examination due to upper age limit.

As per the norms once advice memo is issued, posting should be given within 90 days. Acting against this is a violation of LDF’s declared stance. The AIYF further pointed out that the Transport Minister’s stance is violation of the assurances given by the Chief Minister during the second anniversary of the Left government.

The government should take a stance to address the unemployment of qualified youngsters in the state. The Transport Department and the government should withdraw from the move that would put job-seekers in crisis, demanded AIYF state president R Sajilal and secretary Mahesh Kakkath.
