BHUBANESWAR: Chief Secretary Bijay Kumar Patnaik, Director-General of Police (DGP) Manmohan Praharaj and Principal Secretary in the Home Department UN Behera will attend the meeting on National Counter Terrorism Centre (NCTC) in New Delhi on March 12.

The officer-level meeting has been convened by the Centre to address the grievances of the states after Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and chief ministers of several other states took strong exception to its announcement without any consultation with the states.

The chief ministers maintained that NCTC in its present form as announced by the Centre will encroach on the State’s power and will affect the Centre-state relations. Objecting to the officer-level meeting convened by the Centre, the Chief Minister had written to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh requesting him to convene a meeting of the chief ministers.
