Mathematician Awarded for Number Theory

CUTTACK:Eminent mathematician and former professor of Sambalpur University Dr Indulata Sukla has been conferred with the Lifetime Achievement Award for her pioneering work in Number Theory, Cryptography and Analysis.

The award was presented to her by the Odisha Mathematical Society during its 42nd Annual Conference at Vyasanagar Autonomous College at Jajpur Road on Saturday.

 Dr Sukla received the award from Director of the Institute of Mathematical Sciences, Chennai, Professor Ramachandran Balasubramanian.

Dr Sukla has worked with legends in the field of mathematics like Prof T Pati and late Prof Brian Kuttner of England.

Her textbook, ‘Number Theory and Its Applications to Cryptography’ is widely followed by post-graduate students of universities in Odisha.

Her numerous research papers have been published in many top international journals.
