BHUBANESWAR: ODISHA-BASED NGO Parichay Foundation on Sunday felicitated male achievers in different fields on the occasion of Father’s Day in the City. The Foundation conferred the award named ‘SHRIE’ on 12 achievers. Sujit Mahapatra was awarded for his contribution to social work while Dr Madhabana Kar was felicitated for medical science, Satyarth Nayak for literature, Md Jafar Iqbal for sports, Saswat Joshi for art and culture, Bijoy Kumar Sahoo for education, Santosh Panda for entrepreneurship, Yash A Patnaik for entertainment, Rashmi Ranjan Parida for media.
A special award for promoting Odia culture abroad was given away to Sambit Mishra. Syndicate Bank bagged the CSR Award while the life time achievement award was conferred on Joe Madiath for social work. Renowned poet Surender Sharma was the star attraction of the function. MLA Priyadarshi Mishra, School and Mass Education Minister Debi Prasad Mishra, actors Seema Biswas and Anu Choudhury, KIIT founder Achyut Samanta and Iti Samanta were also present at the event.
