ERODE: Former minister and AIADMK organising secretary S Muthusamy, on Tuesday, held a consultation with his supporters at his house here prior to switching loyalties to the ruling DMK.
His supporters said some former MLAs and MPs too would join the DMK along with Muthusamy and the date of joining would be announced soon.
A ‘merger’ convention was likely to be held in Erode itself, they said.
When contacted, Muthusamy said the present decision was the climax of 15 years of his struggle in the party and said he would reveal everything after joining the DMK. “I am one among many organising secretaries. I don’t even know how many such secretaries are there,” he said.
Refusing to list those who would join the DMK with him, he said, “I have revealed my mind to my supporters. I can’t force anyone to quit the AIADMK.”
He also said that he was not claiming that his exit would wipe out AIADMK in Kongu region.
