RAMANATHAPURAM: Why Deputy Chief Minister M K Stalin was frequently visiting London for treatment without availing the Kalaignar insurance scheme of the State government, questioned DMDK leader Vijayakanth.

The DMDK leader, soliciting votes for his party candidate Mujibur Rahmon for Thiruvadanai constituency, Vijaykanth said that the trips by Stalin were to deposit money generated through various corrupt practices.

Taking a dig at DMK chief Karunanidhi he said that the main aim of Karunanidhi was to amass wealth for him and his family members. His son Alagiri was claiming that he was Anja Nenjan (brave heart), but he had sought anticipatory bail for some reasons. Madurai Collector Sahayam was being threatened by him to act in his favour.

Referring to the poor position of electricity, he said that there was an undeclared state of emergency in the State as power shutdown was frequent which affected all sections. Though Thiruvadanai constituency was represented by a Minister, Suba Thangavelan,  the area had not seen any development .
