Music, Fine Arts Festival Kicks off With 3 Awards

A music and fine arts festival organised by the Chennai Cultural Academy Trust was inaugurated on Thursday, with the felicitation of three artistes. Senior vocalist and composer Madurai G S Mani was conferred with the Sangeetha Kala Jothi Award, Bharathanatyam exponent Saroja Vaidyanathan with Nrithya Jothi Award and ‘Vietnam Veedu’ Sundaram with the Nadaka Jothi Award.

M Narendra, CMD, Indian Overseas Bank and Milind Kharat, CMD, United India Insurance attended.  The 37-day festival will have over 200 performances of music, dance and theatre involving over 1,000 artistes.
