21 New Mothers Get Amma Baby Care Kits

COIMBATORE:As many as 21 'Amma Baby Care' kits were distributed to women, who had given birth on or after September 8 at Coimbatore Medical College Hospital on Saturday.

A total of 99 women had delivered babies from September 8 to 11 at the hospital and the remaining 78 women will be given the kits shortly.

Minister for Municipal Administration S P Velumani inaugurated the distribution of the kit in the presence of Collector Archana Patnaik, Corporation Mayor P Rajkumar, Deputy Director of the Public Health Department A Somasundaram, CMCH Dean Dr A Edwin Joe, Resident Medical Officer R Soundravel and Professor and Head of Plastic Surgery Department B Asokan.

Dr Edwin Joe said that a total of 1,364 kits would be distributed in a month in all 51 primary health centres and 10 government hospitals.
