New Delhi: Farmers protesting at Jantar Mantar were joined by acclaimed film industry personality actor Prakash Raj on Friday.

Farmers from Tamil Nadu have been sitting on protest for the last one fortnight demanding loan write-off and interlinking of rivers.

“The non-caring attitude towards farmers of the people should change. It seems there is no clear vision of the government to solve this crisis, which is very dangerous. Farmers are committing suicides all over the country this is not done” said Prakash Raj who joined the farmers.

Farmers have met finance Minister Arun Jaitley, water minister Uma Bharti and agriculture minister Radha Mohan Singh in the last few days. With no concrete assurance on the demands put forward by them, the protestors have refused to call of the protest.

The actor who has featured in many films expressing solidarity with the farmers said that there is a need of a permanent solution, “their (farmers) grievance should be addressed at the earliest”.
