 HYDERABAD: A one-and-a-half-year-old boy was killed and his grandmother mother suffered fractures when a biker rammed into them at Chilakamarri village in Shadnagar. The woman was walking back home carrying the child on Tuesday night, when the accident happened.

The accused however fled from the spot.

According the Shadnagar police, Maria (55), a tribal from Chilakamarri village was walking to her village from Burgula village on Monday night. She was carrying her one-and-half-year-old grandson son when the motorist rammed into them.


The duo fell on the road and due to severe injuries. The boy died on the spot, while Maria suffered a fracture in her leg and also suffered multiple injuries. The passersby rushed the injured woman to Shadnagar government hospital for treatment.


The police said that the passersby have identified the accused biker as Srisailam, a farmer from Chilakamarri village. He did not notice the woman walking on the road and rammed into her.


The police said that Srisailam was apprehended on Wednesday and was sent to judicial remand. Srisailam was not in drunk condition when he drove the bike, Shadnagar police said.
