11 drown in separate incidents during Holi revelry in Telangana

All the victims were youngsters who had gone to water bodies to take a bath after playing Holi with families and friends.

HYDERABAD: At least 11 persons, including two children, drowned at various places while bathing in canals or ponds after playing Holi in Telangana State on Sunday.
 
While two children drowned in Mahabubabad district, two youngsters each drowned in Bhadradri Kothagudem, Siddipet and Jangaon districts; one person each drowned in Jagitial and Sangareddy districts of the State.
 
In Bhadrachalam town, two degree students, who went for a swim drowned in the Godvari River. The efforts of the locals failed and saw the duo drown helplessly. Their bodies were fished out by police with the help of expert divers.
