YADADRI BHUVANAGIRI : Swathi, whose husband was missing, and who was supposed to appear before the High Court on May 18, committed suicide at Lingarajupally village of Athmakur (M) mandal, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district on Tuesday. She reportedly hanged herself in her parents’ house. Police said that she was distressed over her husband’s disappearance.

Villagers narrated that Swathi and A Naresh ran away and got married in Mumbai on March 25. On court’s directions, Gouliguda police had counselled their parents.

Even then, Swathi’s father lodged a complaint saying that his daughter had gone missing and claimed that Naresh and his father Venkataiah, along with others, had kidnapped Swathi.

On April 2, they escaped from Naresh’s house and fled to Mumbai. Three days after, Swathi’s father called her and pleaded her to return.

On May 2, the couple left for Yadadri town and reached Yadadri railway station. Swathis’ father took his daughter to Lingarajupally village.

However, Naresh never reached his native Pallerla village. Naresh father Venkataiah lodged a complaint and also approached Home Minister Nayani Narsimha Reddy and filed a petition in the HC.
