Youth dies after falling into Musi river while taking selfie

HYDERABAD: Selfie craze claimed the life of a youngster in Nalgonda district of Telangana on Monday.

The youngster was taking a selfie on the banks of the Musi when one of the gates of the project was lifted to release water downstream. He slipped and fell into the water. He got washed away and drowned in the water.

The youngster, G Saidulu (19), was a first-year student in the degree college in Nakrekal. As
the college was closed for the Dasara vacation, he went to his grandmother's village of Ramaram of Ketheypally mandal. On Monday, he was proceeding to his native place of Gudiwada when he noticed that one of the gates of the Musi project was being opened and water was gushing out.

Saidulu went near the water and tried to take a selfie with his mobile and accidentally slipped into the water. As passersby alerted the officials, the Musi project officials closed the gate and retrieved the body of the youngster.
