HYDERABAD: The Bhu Bharati portal was launched in five mandals on a pilot basis on Thursday.

Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy, who launched the portal at Mithayipalli in Amangal mandal of Rangareddy district, said that after examining the functioning of the portal in these mandals, changes would be made if required. After 45 days, the portal would be launched in one mandal in each district, he said.

The portal was simultaneously launched in Kusmanchi in Khammam, Aswaraopet in Bhadradri, Vatpally in Sangareddy and Kosgi in Narayanpet district.

“Now, farmers need not go to any office and could log in the Bhu Bharati portal using his mobile phone,” the minister said.

Criticising the previous BRS regime, Srinivasa Reddy alleged: “Due to the attitude of the previous government, the fate of 9.52 lakh Sada Bainama applications received under Dharani is not known today.”

The minister said that pattas would now given to those who own and cultivate land.
