KARIMNAGAR: “AI is not a replacement for a teacher; it is a force multiplier,” says Shareef Ahmad, a Hindi teacher at Zilla Parishad High School (ZPHS), Mallapur, who has created a personalised digital AI avatar of himself to teach Class 10 lessons. By combining AI-generated videos, animations, songs and visual storytelling, Ahmad is turning textbook lessons into more engaging classroom experiences.
Ahmad, who teaches Hindi at ZPHS Mallapur in Thimmapur mandal, has created an AI avatar based on his own likeness and uses it to present Class 10 lessons through interactive videos. The lessons combine his virtual presence with text, animations, grammar explanations, vocabulary and contextual examples, allowing students to see and hear concepts rather than merely read them in textbooks.
The teacher has personally invested in premium AI software and taught himself tools for avatar creation, voice synchronisation, animation and video editing. His Hindi lessons are also available on YouTube, allowing students to revisit difficult topics at their convenience.
Ahmad has used AI-generated visuals to bring five textbook lessons — Baraste Badal, Eidgah, Maa Mujhe Aane De, Kan-Kan Ka Adhikari and Lokgeet — to life through stories, characters, nature scenes, cultural traditions and social themes. He has also turned poems and verses into melodious songs to help students learn difficult words, pronunciation and meanings more easily.
Beyond classroom lessons, Ahmad conceptualised an AI-based promotional video for the government’s ‘Badi Bata’ school enrolment campaign, which received widespread appreciation on social media.
“With AI-based lessons, students pay greater attention to visual and audio content. They show increased interest, concentration and enthusiasm during the lessons,” Ahmad tells TNIE.
He believes technology should complement, rather than replace, teachers, and adds that it can make quality education more accessible to students.
