Shruti Haasan walked out of Sundar C’s magnum opus, Sangamithra, and we now hear that the makers have approached Nayanthara for the titular role. It isn’t yet clear if she has agreed to play the role though. A source close to the film unit confirms this.

It’s also said that the team is keeping its options open and is scouting for popular names in Bollywood. “A few Bollywood heroines have been approached but nothing has been finalised yet,” adds the source.

The film stars Jayam Ravi and Arya in the lead roles, with AR Rahman composing the music
and Sri Thenandal Films producing it.
