The film is being directed by Muthiah, known for his village-centric films such as Komban and Marudhu, and will mark the reunion of the director and Sasikumar after Kutti Puli. Poorna, Mahima Nambiar and Sanusha play the female leads.

Meanwhile, word has it that Vidharth, whose Oru Kidayin Karunai Manu, recently released to wide acclaim, will be playing Sasikumar’s brother-in-law in the film.

It is said that while Kodiveeran was originally written for Suriya, Muthaiah has made necessary changes to the script to suit Sasikumar’s image. Shooting for the film is currently ongoing in Sivagangai.
