The Dependent Employment Scheme officially known as ‘SCCL Voluntary retirement scheme on health reasons’ was stalled some 18 years ago. Singareni employees and union leaders have been requesting successive governments to implement it so as to facilitate employment to their dependents.
Under the scheme, the present employee who falls under age group of 48 to 59 and wish to give a job opportunity to his son, son-in-law, brother on his voluntary retirement on medical reasons is eligible and can apply for the same.
After formation of TS, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao accepted the long pending demand of the employees and directed Singareni management to implement it immediately. On the directions of the CM, Sridhar took the initiative and got it approved in the board of directors meeting and constituted a committee to formulate terms and conditions. Within 45 days, the committee framed terms and conditions and management released circular on Tuesday.
About 6,500 youth have been given jobs through internal and external notifications for the past two years. “The company will also be benefitted because of the inclusion of youth by this scheme, who will join with experienced senior employees. It is needed to reach higher goals we plan to achieve in future,” an official SCCL release said.
