HYDERABAD: Special chief secretary (revenue) K Pradeep Chandra will assume charge on Wednesday as the second chief secretary of Telangana state.

Pradeep Chandra, a 1982 batch IAS officer, is currently special chief secretary. He earlier worked in industries and finance departments. Pradeep Chandra is a graduate in mechanical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Chennai and has an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Kolkota. He has PhD degree in public administration from the University of Southern California, LA.

However, Pradeep Chandra has only one month service and  will retire in December. Sources said the state would give two extensions of three months each  to Pradeep Chandra as it did for Rajiv Sharma.
The present chief secretary Rajiv Sharma will retire on Wednesday and the state government is organising a farewell to him. Later, Pradeep Chandra will assume office at 5 pm on Wednesday.
