Come autumn and the polo season takes off in Delhi. Heralding the year’s polo season was the Pataudi Polo Cup 2014 at the Jaipur Polo Grounds. It was an exhibition match between ILA Pasrich & Company and M3M Polo Suites. The Pataudi Polo Cup was instituted in 1996 by Nawab Mansur Ali Khan Pataudi. Tiger Pataudi though never played polo but was an avid fan. His legacy now is taken forward by Sharmila Tagore—Begum Mansur Ali Khan Pataudi.
Saif Ali Khan and wife Kareena Kapoor Khan were there to kick-off the Pataudi Polo Cup. Karisma Kapoor too was present and so was her estranged husband and polo player Sanjay Kapur.
Also seen at the game were cricketers Abbas Ali Baig, Bishan Singh Bedi, Mohammad Azharuddin and Maninder Singh. Navin Jindal was out on the field playing and so was Amir Pasrich.
