Fashion globally is going through a massive ‘Blue’ phase. We are not talking about moody blues, but the colour blue. Blue and it’s various shades—indigo, navy, teal, coral and turquoise—are ruling the ramps and subsequently stacking up on store shelves. Payal Jain’s show at the Hyatt Regency was yet another beautiful fashion story woven in blue. An annual feature, Jain’s stand-alone show is an evening fashionistas look forward to and this time too the turn-out was chic.

The collection showcased by Jain had well-constructed jackets, trench coats, flowing skirts and gilets that were decorated with crafty detailing. The crochet aplliqued technique was very innovative and so were the Shibori inspired prints. Jain ended the show with a sequence in white that had silhouettes inspired from Mughal costumes.

Jain’s fraternity was there in full strength. Ashish Soni, JJ Valaya, Rajesh Pratap Singh, Rohit Gandhi, Rahul Khanna, Pankaj Ahuja, Sunil Sethi, David Abraham and Rakesh Thakore graced the occasion. Post show, the lavish dinner spread was a great finish to a fine evening of style.
