MANGALURU: The Supreme Court’s stay on allowing Jallikattu in Tamil Nadu dashed the hope of reviving Kambala for now as bovine animals are used in both the races.

Kambala, a slush track buffalo race popular in coastal Karnataka, and Kichchu Hachhuvudu, organised on Sankranti in rural Bengaluru and central Karnataka districts, were reported to be suspended.
